The legend of the existence of a bear in the forests of Southern Africa, combined with a love for bears led to the establishment of the African Bear Company, by Elize & Jacques Fouche. Which through a range of collectible bears aims to bring the legend to life. Hence the African Bear or also known as the Whale Bear.
The African Bear Company was established to contribute to a lifestyle where craftmanship, quality and attention to detail are uncompromised and natural abundance is reflected in each product. Attributes that are becoming extinct in the modern way of life, and as with the whale and other species, are worth conserving.
All bears are designed and handcrafted with the purpose of having individual and handcrafted bears of high standard and quality. They aim to produce bears that are not only collectibles but companions. Each bear is individually numbered and registered. A register is maintained, on the internet, of all whale bears and where possible the owners.
